Estimate £8,000 - £12,000. The Mini City E was named and designed to do exactly what as described on the can, E meaning Economy as a city car. The thinking man’s town car and is safe to say nothing has come close to replacing it except Mercedes Smart car.
This little green gem has undergone a extensive transformation if not modification with documented receipts and photographs. Based on a later 1990’s Mini the car was fitted with a 998cc engine.
There are a few tasteful common modifications including the rear light covers and centre exit exhaust that have been fitted.
The car has undergone a full £10k classic restoration inside and out in 2017, originally the car was black but was fully stripped back and fully painted in Skoda Rallye Metallic Green with a carbon fibre vinyl roof. The Mini wears 13” mamba style wheels with Yokohama tyres.
Interestingly, the front end is a clamshell that lifts easily on a special hydraulic flip front system. A real head turner. All receipts for the work carried out by a well known Mini specialist ‘Mini Sport’ in Padiham Lancashire, one receipt in particular showing £9k in June 2017 plus lots of smaller jobs & parts that you will see on the invoices. Who better to do the engine, mechanical and interior work than one of the best Mini specialists in the world. The car has covered 66,400 miles, the rebuild taking place just over 2200 miles ago.
The interior has been fully retrimmed with new carpet, the front seats have been replaced with these leather Cobra classic seats with custom green piping matching rear seat.
The drivers seat literally brand new from its fresh retrim Cobra sport classic seats which can recline for easy access to the back. Matching the walnut dash the driver is treated with a Motolita John Cooper steering wheel.
The dashboard is classic Mk1/2 and clocks have been replaced with a classic walnut facia, back-dated with the classic Cooper S big centre speedo that reads 130mph with two small gauges of oil pressure and water temp. You could say this is a 90’s restomod mini, imagine Singer Porsche meets Rover Mini.
The rear seat has been made to match the front’s with Black Leather and green piping
The boot is classic mini, petrol tank on the left, battery compartment on the right. The spare wheel recessed in the middle and partition with ample boot space.
