THE STORY OF THE VEHICLE

Do not be deceived by the standard looks of the exterior, to the untrained enthusiast it looks like any other Discovery. You can say the guys at Overfinch have a small obsession with creating the ultimate wolf in sheep’s clothing!

The tell tail sign of the ‘Overfinch’ badge that replaces the standard Land Rover emblem, will certainly inform you this is no normal Discovery.

As you can see by the detailed photographs of the vehicle, she is in excellent condition, the sportier 5 Spoke alloy wheels have been recently refurbed with chunky Bridgestone Turanza tyres all round including the spare wheel. There is no expense spared for this vehicle.

You may have noticed the rear V8i badge, normally the Land Rover Discovery placed a 3.9 Litre Rover V8 engine. Until Overfinch replaced the standard engine for the 570 engine which is a 5.7 litre V8 (Chevrolet LS derived engine from the Corvette), in this state if tune the car is running 330bhp nearly double the output of the Rover V8 and also 400ft lb of torque. To compliment the engine a stainless steel sports exhaust was fitted. Other upgrades include a precision steering conversion, a quick ratio steering box, vented disc brakes and a Viscous coupling gearbox.

The Overfinch tuning programme inside was carried through the inside too, finished in a luxury Bahama Beige leather throughout the interior, twin SRS front airbags, air conditioning, twin electric panoramic sunroof with privacy glass, the list go on and on.

The leather seats are in excellent condition with little wear, considering the car has covered a very modest 35,000 miles in 23 years. A luxury vehicle more of a collector’s car than a daily. Looking around the Land Rover we do not think this vehicle has been off road!

Up front the dash is as luxurious as the older brother the Range Rover. Finished with splashes of Mahogany wood veneer through to the center console. Everything is all original and correct, including the factory floor over mats.  There are subtle extra gauges below the dash for the LPG (Liquefied petroleum gas) system, yes this vehicle also features an alternative cheaper way of running the 4x4 on the road.

The rear seats again look hardly worn, the leather has really aged well and a great contrast with the British classic green exterior.

Of course being an off roader the car comes with generous amounts of boot space to ensure the family & the dog can all travel in comfort.  With the roof windows and extra height roof line certainly brightens the whole interior. Very functional too with a spare wheel at back, a tow bar ready for any outing. The vehicle is accompanied with the dealer leather service, manual wallet. A box file contains all receipts and there is a lot!! even the Overfinch with brochure and all MOTs. These older Land Rovers are becoming very collectable, you will not be disappointed with our choice!   For more details or a viewing please contact us at Norman@Normanspond.com
